The house reef of Nosy Sakatia is 400 meters from Sakatia Lodge and over a kilometre long. It is not only excellent for scuba diving, but also for snorkelling. Some snorkel spots and beaches are best visited with a pirogue (a traditional dug out boat).
There are more than 20 dive sites around Sakatia island, ranging from 1-15km from the lodge. Each dive site has a large variety of hard and soft corals, tropical reef fish, nudibranchs, pygmy pipe hoses, table top corals, with an average depth of 18m.
Sakatia its self has a house reef over a kilometre long and just 400m from the lodge allowing the perfect location for snorkelling. Here you will be able to swim with the green turtle, diverse species of fish as well as the beautiful different colours of coral. Snorkelling gear is available at the lodge free of charge.
Fluro diving is also available as a night dive – Advanced certification is required.
